- Prerequisites
- Choose a task or idea to work through
Make the outcome, inputs and review criteria clear before work begins.
This practical exercise helps you make a clearer plan. It does not promise work, sales or earnings.
1. Lead with the outcome
Start with what needs to be different when the task is complete. Name the intended audience and explain why the result matters. Keep background information separate from the actual request.
2. Provide the necessary inputs
List the files, reference material and decisions needed to begin. Identify who can answer questions. Separate required references from optional inspiration so priorities remain clear.
3. Define the deliverables
Specify the format, quantity and destination of the work. Include practical limits such as image dimensions or document length when they matter. State what the task does not include.
4. Explain the review
List the criteria you will use to review the result. Decide who approves it and how feedback will be collected. Agree on the timeline and the handling of revisions before work begins.
5. Check understanding
Ask the person doing the work to summarize the expected result and raise missing information. Update the brief where their questions reveal ambiguity. Keep the agreed version with the project files.
